Exclamation Star Trails

I was wondering if using the built in intervalometer to take star trails would be a good bet? So I can just feed in 999 exposures of 20 seconds each and then sit and relax.

I do think this makes sense, but just need to confirm is this would work.

Sorry if I sound stupid

I suppose it would depend upon how much of a star trail you're trying to capture.

Using the 600 rule, and depending upon the focal length, a twenty second exposure may or may not get you much in terms of trails.

I don't know what intervalometer your talking about...handheld shutter switch and timer?

Is 999 exposures just an arbitrary number...or is this something critical to the project?

fair enough my friend... but i guess give it atleast 30 sec exposure for more stars to be visible..
and make sure u make the test shots and then go on with it...

30 secs 999 shots = more than 8 hours.. am i rite??

best of luck...

i ve done mine in 2 to 3 hours
