I honestly don't think it would. You wouldn't really be blocking the sun. Considering you are shooting it....

I am also a fan of shooting into the sun! Here are a few of my favorite examples:

Brilliant! Always wondered how to do such a effect definitely going to give it a try.

On what kind of settings ISO, shutter speed etc. roughly should the camera be set up on a bright blue sky day whilst popping a shot right at the sun and getting a foreground that isn't only silhouette or black? Will bracketing be necessary?

I am little ignorant here, will bright and direct sunlight damage your cameras senser? If so any tips or rules to avoid damage

Another method you could try (employed by some astrophotographers) is to tape a couple of pieces of fishing line, in an X shape over the lens. You'd only get four spikes coming off the sun instead of the several here but it's also possible it could mean a shorter exposure time to get a similar effect. I'm still pretty new to photography so my information could be a little off.

Talking starshaped sun

Man thank you very much for the tip , I am very curious about having a nice shot with a handsome sun in the back , but only got a very bright big dumb dot in the back.
Can't wait to try!!!!!!!!
My only concern is what if the sun damages the sensor?? Filter?? How to do?
Thank you!!
