![]() Camera Canon EOS REBEL T2i Exposure 0.004 sec (1/250) Aperture f/4.5 Focal Length 37 mm ISO Speed 100 Exposure Bias 0 EV Flash 2 studio strobes with shoot-through umbrellas So I've been wanting to shoot a big-hair minimalistic image for a while and last weekend I got the chance! I'm pretty okay with how it turned out but I wish I would have gotten few more shots to choose from as we only took about 10 before the model wanted to move on to the rest of the shoot. For this shot though, the make-up-artist did very simple, nude looking makeup and I shot it against a white wall which kept the distractions from the pose and hair to a minimum. I edited out strays, distracting skin folds, wrinkles, and imperfections while over-exposing and desaturating the image a bit to give a very clean image with a clear message. I wish I would have left a bit more empty space to draw the viewer to the emotion of the image, so I might photoshop that in in the future. The pose looking over the shoulder was to convey as sense of vulnerability in fashion, and the hidden eyes further remove you from the model to suggest that only the pose and emotional suggestion are important. I broke a few compositional rules here to make viewers feel confronted and further evaluate the image. Any suggestions, criticisms or other feedback? There's always room for improvement! |
