Writing With Light

the 1st image is not that difficult to duplicate, it is a 1 light setup. I did something similar in the shots below. In all instances you side light the subject, blocking the light so that any spill light is behind them. I don't remember the details on any of these shot other that I used 1 light (alien B 800), camera was directly in front, lens was shut down, most likely F22 & in the case of the 3rd image I used a reflector to toss some light back on her to soften the shot up a bit.
