Default Lighting Help

I took this photo 6/29. It was later in the evening with decreasing light. The sun was past the horizon and to my back with plenty of ambient light in the sky. I shot from light shade into darker shade. As you can tell in the image there is sky/reflective light in the upper right corner. I tried several apeture and framing changes to minimize the reflective glare. I was using polarizing and UV filters (I forgot to take them off due to being out in decreasing light). I only have Canon DPP for post production and I have fixed this the best I can. Still not happy with it. I wanted to use this on the current assignment of vertical lines. I did not have the option of changing to have the reflective light more behind me, I was shooting into someone's property from the fence.
How could this glaring been minimized?

Neat picture, it almost looks a little blurry? Maybe a faster shutter speed? You can get anti glare filters that really help

kmarie,
I believe the photo is in focus it is just all the glare. I'll do some research in anti-glare filters. I was using a UV and circular polarizer when I shot it. All said, I needed to be at another angle.

Default aperture

In light of UV filters, I'd be inclined to try opening the aperture if possible. Let a little more light in to see if overexposes on other areas.

For the record, if there was a status below newbie, that would be me. I'm interested to see how others respond, so thank you for asking.

uv filters don't really do anything but reduce your image quality, Id only use one if I was shooting some where that I would have the chance of getting nasty stuff on the front lens.

glare, mirrored highlights are two such problems from filters. Most glass can already block UV light, in fact if you wanted to do UV shooting you tend to need some exotic lens that don't filter it. Also the font element on your lens is coated to reduce unwanted light and reflections.. uv filters tend to not be.

Using filters in combination can also affect image quality, also with a cpl make sure its rotated the right way to do its job and if you don't need it then best not to use it as a cpl eats light.

Some cpl's (cheep ones) can also badly affect images from zoom lens, I had one that worked nice on my 18-55 but on my 50-200 anything over 100mm and the cpl reduced sharpness and at 200mm it was just unusable. (this was a cheep cpl though)

As for the image, it looks like you had a light source to the side of the camera.. outside of the frame but still hitting the filters. Did you have a lens hood on?
