Shooting Katie

By request from the SYS section, here are some lighting diagrams for some images I posted there of the lovely Katie...


Here, I have her looking almost directly at the sun, but through a large diffusion panel. I had her close her eyes and open them on the count of 3... even through the panel, the sun can be very bright. Here's a lighting diagram;



This last one, Katie is standing in an open field with the sun behind her and slightly over her right shoulder. To keep her from being totally underexposed, I used a small flash, bare, camera right, set very low. Its really just opening up the shadows a little bit and I'm letting the background go hot and overexposed. Here's the diagram;
