Default Victoria's headshot

Victoria's mum hired me to get some pictures for her daughter, a budding actress. Even though it was the first time I met her, I could tell she was a very confident young lady.

A good tip I can offer is this: try to keep the lighting as simple as possible, especially when your subject is someone you're meeting the 1st time. If you spend too much time getting fiddling with your gear, you will lose that all important rapport you need to establish with your subject.

I used available light, one speedlight and one reflector.

qoedjo,
If I had not used the top half of the umbrellas as a shoot through diffusion light modifier, the catchlight in VIctoria's eyes would only appear as little pinpoints.

Also, the fill light from the flash might be "hard" and cast unwanted shadows.

Thank you for the kind words on my blog.

But while gear helps - it's all about the light ...
