If you took the image, then you own the copyright to your image. There is nothing more you need to do.
If you wish to protect your images for commercial uses, and have a reason to believe that it would be in your interest to establish copyright in a more formal way in order to pursue criminal claims and/or substantially higher potential civil claims, then you need to register your images with the US copyright office. Here is a tutorial to guide you through this process. If you are just starting out, there is probably no reason to go to the trouble or expense of registering your copyright. You can place a watermark on your images to indicate your copyright. You can also use photoshop to embed a digital signature in your images to help prove ownership. |
