Default Narrow Depth of Field

This was a log next to my firewood pile. Half of it had broken off so I was able to line up the grain between to the two "fronts". I then focused on the closer end with a 3.5 aperture. I'm sorry, but I can't seem to find the rest of the EXIF data.

Not sure what I did, but the posting of the image didn't work. I can't figure it out!

It does in fact have very thin DOF, however, there's a focus issue with the part of the subject that should be sharp
