Smile HDR | Compact Camera Photography

Poor photographers dont have good equipment. However, I still strive.. These photos are one of my successful photos, thought it did not come out the way i want it emotionally, i still think its worth a photo..

I used my Nikon S570 to take HDR photos.. Usually DSLR's have bracketting mode where your shots will burst in different exposures. I did mine manually..

First I set up a tripod and find a good angle.. Buildings with clouds and sun is a good combination, especially sunrise or sunsets.

Fix your angle.. then take 3 different photos of different exposures.. Mine was usually -1.3, 0, 1.3.. you can set to different range of exposures or even take more than 5 different exposures..

Use Photmatix to make the HDR photo.. It will ask you to merge photos, merge them.. it will automatically combine the photos nicely and they already have presets for you to play with.. you can manually do it too.. It is also best if your photo is taken in RAW format, but mine was taken in JPEG..

Whalaa.. Your photo should be done.. Heres mine from my website,Andrian's Compact Camera Photography

By the way, these photos were taken in my school compound.. =)

Nicely done for being manual. I had a D40 and struggled with HDR because I could never keep the tripod completely still for HDR. We are spoiled with bracketed shooting. I am impressed!

Those are very nice HDR images. I am going to try some HDR photos this year myself.
