Default Picture in Picture

In this tutorial I plan to show you how to get a picture inside a picture inside a picture. This is my final result:
12-15 Self-Portrait (Picture in Picture)

I started with these 2 photos: All you need is a picture in a frame.
DSC_0117
DSC_0103

I took what I wanted to be the inner picture and used the polygonal lasso tool to select the inside of the frame.
Untitled-1
You might want to expand your selection by 3 pixels or so to make sure you don't have any of the original picture left.

Then I deleted that part of the picture.

Then I did the same thing with what I wanted to be the outer picture:
Untitled-3
Untitled-4

After that, I copied the inner picture as a layer under the outer picture, and transformed (ctrl t) holding shift to keep the same ratio.

After that I merged the layers together.

Then copied that layer.
Untitled-7

Transform the new layer (underneath).
Untitled-8

Then lather, rinse, and repeat until the quality is so low, you cannot see the blank space. I think I only had to add the layer once or twice more.

Then I cropped it and used a black and white layer to achieve the final result.

Great Idea and an even better description on how you did this.
Thanks for your time and efforts in sharing this with us.

very detailed tutorial. And the stepwise pics will make this so easy for even a dummy like me to be able to do it. TFS.
