Lightbulb In Focus Motion Blur

Camera Canon EOS REBEL T2i
Exposure 0.077 sec (1/13)
Aperture f/16.0
Focal Length 55 mm
ISO Speed 100
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Flash Off, Did not fire

Took this picture of my girlfriend ice skating. As you can see I used a slightly longer exposure, because i wanted a sense of motion in the scene. She stayed in focus because I kept her in the same place in the frame while she was skating by, and since i was moving the camera the background was blurred.
This technique is not for the impatient, as I took about 20 shots before i kept her in the same spot in the frame for the full exposure. Good luck and happy shooting!

That's the idea, as i described. But, the key is to stay on your subject well enough that they aren't blurred as well.

Yes, that is the key to panning.

Nice shot, I've tried this, not as easy as it sounds!
