Default A walk in the woods

Hiya Guys

Well this is my first post on DPS so hello to all, I'm from the UK and well after being interested in Photography for many years I've never really spent any time doing it myself, so decided christmas was a good time to get a decent camera etc and get out into the wild and get some pics done, so here is my first.

Please comments are most welcome so I can start to improve!!

I have a Nikon D3100 using a Nikon 18-55mm lens
This picture was actually shot in B&W (I also took some in colour,RAW, but just liked this one the best).
I have darkened it slightly using photoscape (Quite a good free program that)
the settings are as follows - 1/20 F9 with ISO200 (Aperture priority).

I have Salisbury Plain (a huge area of woods etc in the UK) as my back garden so went for a walk, it was actually very foggy and I just stumbled onto this scene and really fancied it.

I think I kept to the 2 thirds rule quite well (which out of about 7 shots this one is the best).
Hope you like it.

Hi there,

Lovely image. Only two things immediately come to mind... Perhaps the darker areas could be a little darker - maybe?

It probably will help if you straighten the image so the tree trunks are vertical. It's only a couple of degrees, but it will make a difference.
