christmas 4.jpg
This is a picture I took of my Christmas tree. I used the HDR technique. My camera is a Canon SX210IS. Then I did some slight editing in Photoshop. Let me know what you think of it, I would really like to hear what you like and don't like.

Hey so its one of my favorite things to do this time every year. Great to use to make xmas cards too. Try next time not to use a flash (I think that's what is reflecting int he ball)and use a longer shutter speed. Keep the apature wide open for a more blurred effect for the background.
Also when taking pics of a refelctive nature be aware of what will show up. you a flash.. the other day i realized my TV was reflecting in a shot. I just discovered HDR and will be giving it a shot. I like the effect it gave to the corner ornament to the bottom left. I would try a similae shot concentrated on that ornament. Below is a link of my annual ornamnet shot. No flash long shutter speed wide open apeture. Light Angel by ~musicalnursynurse on deviantART Good Luck |

Thanks. =) I actually didn't use a flash, I put in a fake lens flair on PS. I also did notioce that after I took the picture me and my camera was in the reflection of the ornament. So I had to photoshop that out too. =) But I will try some of the other things you mentioned, and next time I'll probably keep the lens flair out. Thanks again.

I'm new here too. I'm just bought a camera and took some pics. Here this is my 3rd try.
![]() Is far from a good pic, but in some time I will improve thanks to this site. No touched by any photography software, I only added the foggy frame. Canon Powershot SX130.
