Default Rolling Rig shot.

STi Rear Rig shot. Click for higher Res

Unfortunatly, due to the Di-Noc (Breathable carbbon vinyl) on the roof, the suction cups could not achieve suction.
I had to reposition the Cups to the Window meaning less lateral coverage of the car.

Shot with Sony NEX-5 with 16mm kit lens with ND4 Filter and CPL.

Interesting trick.
What car mount is used here? It must be amazingly strong to be able to hold such a long pole with a camera on it!
I have been considering the purchase of one so we can do drift videos. However have been a little concerned about my camera being destroyed...

One question. Why would you have done this shot like this instead of mounted off of another vehicle?

Im using Avenger F1000 Suction cups and a 10' EMT Tube for the pole with a Manfrotto Magic Arm at the end of it. Normally it would be mounted on the roof so there would be less vertical stress on the cups; but since the roof of this car isnt smooth, the suction cups would not adhere.

I used to use a 450D for this setup and had no problems with suction strength. Since then, ive switch to the lighter NEX-5.

Mounting to another vehicle wouldnt get you as close as if you mounted directly on the vehicle itself.

Great Post Processing, and cool shot. How did you remote control the camera? It would have been nice to see a funny license plate instead of one blanked out. Thanks for sharing.

I tried using a IR remote but it didnt get enough range.
I set it up to 10s timer and ran back to the car and drove off. Haha
