Talking Magic hour in the city

Hey everyone!
I have wanted to make a photo in this location for forever, but just han't gotten around to it until recently. I've heard about "the magic" hour in photography, but haven't really experimented all that much with it. What I found though, is if you would like to make a night city scape, this really makes the photo (in my opion )

I found that this magical time when the sky is this amazing shade of blue occures about 1/2 hour to an hour after the sun sets. It is also about the time when the street and building lights come on, and also about the time you can get a long enough exposure to get some nice light trails if you want. (Make sure to bring your tri-pod!)

Anyhow, this was the result of my experiment, would like to see some other magic hour shots! Have fun

Very nice shot indeed. Do you mind telling us how you took it?

Apeture, Shutted speed etc?

Thanks a lot!

Yea sure, I had it at f22 (so I could have a longer exposure) and an 8 second exposure, and my ISO was set on 200. I also used a tripod and a remote release to prevent any camera shake,

Hope that helps!

Wonderful shot! At this size on the montior I cant see any people. I think those are the best shots of such architecture. Is that paris? arch de triomphe or something? Just curious. Love the light trails too.

Very nice shot! The light trails add that "little something" extra to the shot. TFS

Thanks everyone
@Theosus- it is actually in Munich...I think a lot of cities in Europe have these big arches (inc. Paris)...but if you are ever here, it is on Leopoldstrasse
