Simple Smoke Photography Tutorial (No extra gear)

Here is my attempt at a smoke shot...
After staring at it for awhile, I think it resembles a dog. haha

The very middle looks a little like Darth Vader?

It looks like... It is interesting post processing... Dublicating the smoke layer and flip horizontaly.

I first did it was a blanket background that was not solid


Then tried similar to your but with more smoke

Great tutorial! Any chance you can do one on applying the gradient? I tried doing this but cannot get the gradient to look the way your does.

Thanks for the simple tutorial on this. It worked beautifully, however, I have no idea how to get the color into the smoke. I tried it in Gimp but could not get the gradient to work the way it shows up in your photo. Did this require layers in addition to making a gradient?
