Default zoom blur skyline

water is the center of life

Camera Nikon D3S
Exposure 25
Aperture f/13.0
Focal Length 24 mm
ISO Speed 100
Lens 24-70mm f2.8 nikkor

This shot is straight out of the camera. I rested my camera on a wall on the roof of an apartment building. The shutter speed is 25 seconds. For this shot I let it rest for 15 seconds, then slowly zoomed in for the last 10. I think it's a great way to liven up your cityscape shots!

Really cool effect! I'll have to try this out next time in in the city.

Interesting. I think this would work really well with more isolated lights, just streetlamps with no buildings, so you isolate the light streaks more.

I like the effect, but I'm looking for a more interesting focus point. The black hole in the middle of the photo bothers me.

I don't know. It almost is like a black hole. As if it were pulling the light from the city into it. Great effect.
