Default Shining Shell (how i took it)

hello
this is how i took this shot
Shining Shell

ingredients:

flash light
shell
hardisk disk (i dissembled a hardisk to get it, but its worth it )
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4141/...3a781c_z_d.jpg

then just simply but every thing on top of each other and position you camera (i used 100mm 1:1 macro lense) and take the shot

cheers and hv fun

Cool Diesel,

Hi there - hope you don't mind (I guess it was the point) but I gave this a go and attach my results here...

There is a light

The hard-disc platter is indeed a thing of beauty, so perfectly reflective under these conditions. It also gave me a chance to tear down a hard-drive which I've always wanted to do! Definitely an item to keep in my stock of tools for taking light-box photos.

Thanks again!

Tom

u r always welcome my friend
and the shot is very nice
u can try with different shells but i found that the ones with hard curves and distance between the curves works best

This is a really cool idea! I'd love to give this a go sometime, I don't have any hard drives I'm willing to destroy right now, wonder how just a CD would work???
Also I guess if you put a bit of coloured cellophane over the torch you could change the colour of the light coming through although love the light you have there.
Thanks for sharing!
