![]() You need: camera remote trigger or 30 sec exposure option flashlight tripod white wall dark room Settings: 30mm f/5.6 30 sec exposure time ISO 800 I mounted my Nikon D5000 on a tripod, set aperture and focal length and when lights were on, focused on a white wall. Than I set focus to manual and turned the lights in a room off. I leaned against the wall and pressed the trigger. I hold the flashlight in the height of my belt, 30 cm in front of me. Flashlight must point into your head. I modified the flashlight with a 5 cm wide strap so the illumination angle was about 30 deg. Depending on your flashlight power, stand still and turn the flashlight off after a few seconds. Take new position and repeat the procedure. The exposition is running all this time. I did it three times and than ended the exposition. It is a fun project to play with different illumination techniques. You can also rotate the camera while changing position and acquire other arrangements of your face in a photography. The easiest way to shoot is with remote trigger and bulb function. However 30 sec exposure is usually enough so DSLR is not mandatory. Don't fire the flash or picture will be ruined.
