Thumbs up Moon

How I took it -

I set the tripod up, put the camera on the tripod, set the camera for a 2 second delay (self timer) , than I set my camera up with the following settings

Manual mode
1/200
F 11

Then lens was at full 300mm on manual focus

Question - what settings do you use to photograph the moon?

Pardon my ignorance, I am new to this, but how do you get such a great shot at 1/200 of a second at night?

Because althought you might not believe it the Moon is a source very bright light (assuming no cloud cover) so you can get down at 1/200, plus you don't want to go below this because, even though the distance the subject is away from you is mahoosive, it travels at ~2200 mph, so much less than 1/125 you will get blur. Try this, tripod up your camera, set the centre focus on the moon, go away and come back 2 mins later. You'll see how much the moon moves when you're focusing in at 300mm+

Yep think of it as being in the middle of the day on earth because its daytime on the moon. There was a long post in here a few pages back that explain about underexposing, and post processing to get the perfect moon. Ok kept looking but i guess its just a few threads down >.<

How I shoot the moon..
