Driving home from the cottage the other night, and eager to capture a decent sunset shot, we pulled off the road. We scrambled down the rocky boat launch to the water's edge and I set up my tripod. I shot this in raw, but decided not to change anything. Now, keep in mind, I've only had a Digital SLR for about 3 weeks, and before that, I had very little interest in photography. Now, however, I read as much material as I can get my hands on, and can't wait to start building low-budget light boxes and the like.

Camera Model Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XS Shooting Date/Time 7/18/2010 9:12:24 PM Shooting Mode Manual Exposure Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/125 Av( Aperture Value ) 5.6 Metering Mode Evaluative Metering ISO Speed 200 Lens EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Focal Length 23.0mm Flash Off AF Mode One-Shot AF Picture Style Landscape I took 41 of the sunset from that spot, and several others of the surrounding area. I used both my 18-55mm and 75-300mm lenses, and various white balance shift settings, but the shot I liked most was the first one, with no tinkering. Awesome shot, I love the colors, really makes me wish there was a lake by me. Interesting to note, I just got into photography recently, got my first camera about 2 weeks ago, and have the same camera, also the same two lenses as you..great minds must think alike lol.
