Smile Reversed Macro

This is the detailed view of the smallest and softest parts of a bird feather. The ones closest to the tip.

Using the reverse ring I attached my 18-55mm lens backwards to the camera and snapped this shot.

The only thing to remember is that you will have to spent a little time to find the object with your view finder, because the image is very blurred until you get to the perfect distance from the object.

I'm looking forward to experimenting more with this type of macro!

Wow! That is a big wow! But how did you get two focal points as it seems in the picture. 2 portions of the feather are focused. But they aren''t in the same DOF area. Love this shot. Would love to take one such. Please explain.
