Shot taken in my backyard. Took a picture of our tree with a zoom effect. ISO 100 aperture at 11 shutter speed at 1/60. taken late morning. Use a zoom lens. Focus then as soon as you press the shutter u twist the zoom lens at the same time to get that zoom effect, Hope you like this shot

I rather like this shot personally. I was considering experimenting with this myself but I got distracted by some strange bugs out in the yard. Do you think it would be possible to get the "zoom blur" and yet keep the center in focus? My logic would be to pre focus on the subject and then go through the range to the subject and hold. I.E: Seconds 1 through 6 are the zoom motion, 5 - 11 seconds would be held focused on the subject. Never having experimented with this though it almost seems better suited for a PS composite in my mind.

I've been experiencing with this technique but I haven't had any sucess yet. It is kind of difficult I think. I keep trying it with no satisfactory results yet. The only shot I did that I really liked was this one. Will keep trying. It does produce cool results.
I read a post here in DPS about this that gives great tips, but could not find it now. If I do I'll post it here later. But I remember it suggested using the flash, which I did in some of my trial shots. Also you should try first and second curtain flash depending on what you want frozen on the shot.
