Default Black & White Palm Trees

Hawaii

I had shot a ton of color shots of the sunset. I switched over to black and white and the difference was amazing to me. A relaxing, tropical evening turned out looking kind of spooky and forboding.

Nikon d80
Exposure: 0.05 sec (1/20)
Aperture: f/4.2
ISO Speed: 200

What a lovely shot. Yes, sometimes the obvious color sunset picture does turn out great as a black and white. There are lovely tones in this shot. If I was going to be ultra critical, I would remove the tiny highlights on the right of the picture and just leave the two light in the centre. Thanks for sharing and great work.

It's an interesting shot and I especially like it because I've hardly ever seen a tropical sunset in black and white. Come to think of it, I've never seen a tropical image like this in black and white.

I love it! I am really inspired to any black and white photos. It's really attractive and relaxing to my eyes because I always see colorful things everyday. Seeing a photo like this is very unique and creative.

Love this shot. To me, it looks almost as if the palm trees were trying to take flight. Wonderful B&W.
