Default Lighting with whats lying about...

The following are images I captured of a small center piece my wife put together.

Carnation In Natural Light

Carnation In Red

Carnation In Golden Light

What Was Used...
On the table is the carnation center piece and all that was used in addition to the light from the window.
The "yellow" filter is a jar of used vegetable oil, no trans-fat! The "red" filter is a liquid "hour glass" that uses colored water and oil.
I used an upside down bowl and some pudding boxes and a lid to adjust the height of my "filters". The light source was a Maglite held by salt and pepper shakers.
A Tamron f2.8 70-200mm lens was used in all but the "What Was Used" image. My wife made the center piece.
Why not pick a subject in your home and "play in the light"!

I started with natural light through the kitchen window. After a couple of captures, I used the salt and pepper shakers to hold an adjustable flashlight (a Maglite brand) to supplement the light on the carnation. That image is not included.
I then noticed a mason jar of used veggie oil on our island. I tried shining the alternate light source through the jar to create a little mod lighting. That worked well so then I employed the water and oil toy hour glass. I had to raise that using some pudding boxes and a lid.
OK, now, go find something lying about the house and "play in the light"
