Default First sunset

Sunset over Bel Air

So I've had my D5000 for just a couple days (my first DSLR). I walk out of the local mall, and this is the sunset. This photo has not been touched (except for cropping). I snapped several shots, this being the best. This shot was actually taken 1/13/2010.

Don't you just hate it when your picture gets 100 views and no one comments...

Gorgeous sky. Congrats on the new camera - enjoy!

Dang I opened this post and I thought this was a shot of TEOTWAWKI!!
The light pole looks like something out of War of the Worlds.

Man, that is one amazing sky!
Nice work.

PS: welcome to DPS xd40c

It hasn't got any comments, as it's in the wrong section.
This is the 'How I took it' section, to teach people techniques.

Post in the Critique section, or Share My Shots

Well I guess you're right, this is the wrong section. I'll learn.

Thanks for the comments...

Default Absolutely stunning

The edges at the top almost give it a feel of some other worldly planet pictured in some of the sci-fi movies. I have yet to get a shot close to being as great as this.

Thumbs up Very nice shot

I have a D5000 and am really amazed at its versatility and the great picture quality. I used to be a film photographer a long time ago. I didn't think I would like digital format. This is my first digital camera and it is taking me some time to get the menus straight but the basic rules of photography still apply.....Great shot love to hear how you like your Nikon and any tips you or anyone else on this site might have.....
