Default Fish eye lens

Okay so I bought a 0.42x HD Super Wide Angle Fish eye lens for my Pentax k-7 but I have yet to gain the effects I have seen so many times. I also have tried to find some place to get some info on the subject and what I get is how to use Photoshop to gain fish eye effects. Someone please help. What am I doing wrong?

You are talking about an adapter that screws onto the front of your existing lens. I used to have one, and while it was not as good as a true wide angle lens, dollar for dollar it was pretty good. If you are looking for the 'fisheye' effect, you are going to have to put it on a wide lens. I used to have a 28mm lens and it, along with the adapter lens, would give me full fish-eye effect. However, when I put it on my 50mm lens I just got a wide shot, no 'fisheye' effect. I kept it in my camera bag for many years. I just never knew when I was going to really need wide shot and knew I could always rely on that old beast.

Thank you. I have tried it out and also found by focusing on something close like my dogs nose I can get some cool effects.
