Default Lighthouse Long Beach

Was at the Long Beach (CA) Golf Show this weekend and took my camera since we were going to be by the beach. It had been raining at night and suppose to be clearing by mid morning. Thought the clouds would be great with some blue sky coming through.

Took about 4 shots to make the pano with AEB (-2, 0, +2). Total of 12 shots. First I merged the individual exposures. Then did the HDR work in Photomatix. Until I saw what looked good to me. Lastly I Opened the final image in Camera Raw and Photoshop to give it some final touches/crop.

Let me know what you guys think.

This is by no means an expert opinion, but what would -1 exposure look like?

It almost seems too colorful and bright...

I like the composition but I think I would agree to lessen the exposure a bit. Sometimes an image that is too bright is hard to look at. Just my thoughts.

I actually like the bright colors...it reminds me of a technicolor movie...I think it always goes back to what you are hoping to achieve with the shot and processing.

Am 50/50 with the brightness to be honest, like mentioned it looks like technicolour, could be something from a Peter Jackson or Tim Burton movie but if I look at it without that prespective its to bright... hard decision, but the composition I love.

I for one love the bright colors. I think it makes it look almost surreal, which I assume is what you were going for. Nice work!

I like the colors and the composition, I just feel that the lighthouse is too gray and it's blending in with the gray cloud next to it and getting lost in the sky.
