,This can be very addictive as you will find ,but you will get some great droplets with this low tech set up , and so long as it fits in the sink you can get a reflection of it in a droplet with a few trys . have fun, and don't forget to share .

Mookie , I googled your camera , while your zoom is not as heigh as mine ,you do have a better camera ,try useing continious shooting in your macro setting , & if that does not work for you , you do have manual settings on your camera , do you use them ? not sure what they would be but am sure that you could find one that would do the job .

Thank you ,I liked the green with the apple but have every color they make LOL . when I shoot droplets I am going for the air born droplet and the reflection so am watching my back ground , the splash is a + the reflection is the prize .

Thank you for the complament . Sounds like you have a great camera ,makes me green with envy , but I would not know how to use it . Thanks for sharng your droplet , as you said the lighting is not right , did you use anything over your flash to bounce the light down ? and the mirrors have to be set so they will also bounce that light as well as the reflection ,and the shutter speed has to be 800 to freeze that droplet and not get too much light flare on the water . and shoot from just the right angle between those 2 mirrors to get the best reflections and least light glare . I look forward to seeing more , hint try the apple .

For a softer lighting effect, you might want to try replacing the mirrors with white cards. To make a more dramatic image, put some black card, or, even better, some black velvet, in the sink behind the apple. Changing the green for blue might suggest a sky.

Regards,
Thanks for sharing your views , the black at the far side of the sink may work well but i use the mirrors to aid in the reflection and with my camers I need lots of light to get a good clear reflection in the droplet . I use all colors of poster board , depending on what reflection I am after . Have you tried the useing white cards ? would love to see your results .

Default That's A Great Idea

It's raining here in San Diego today, so I'm going to try this. Your explanation was very clear and concise. Great job.

Default Thank you

Snapdragon: I love this. Not just that you share your lovely photograph but that you give away so freely and in such careful detail your technique. This is a wonderful example of how the internet should work. Thank you. I'm unwell at the moment and a bit of indoor photography fun is just what I needed to pass the time. I had real fun but broke a mirror whilst doing it! Thank my lucky stars I'm not superstitious.
Before your tutorial I wouldn't have contemplated the following shot.
