I went to the zoo to take a look at the new cheetah exhibit and to try out the new 400mm f/5.6 lens that I'd rented from lensrentals.com. I hadn't expected (or was even trying) to find shots that would go together in a triptych, but when I was reviewing the shots, these stuck out at me. They just seem to work well together (at least to my eye), so I fired up Photoshop and threw some text on the photo to make it more like a gallery print and this is the result.
The three shots that make up this triptych were shot at the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, FL. The camera is a Canon 7D and the lens is a Canon 400mm f/5.6L. They were all shot in Av mode at ISO800 f/5.6 and a speed of 1/100 to 1/160. They were somewhat hand-held though I was able to set the lens down on a fence for stability. I had to make some post-processing adjustments to get them all to have roughly the same looking exposure. They were cropped to focus on their faces. There was also a fence wire that went around the top of their cage. It got in the way a bit and left a blue tint even though it was far out of focus. I desaturated the blue to more or less get rid of the affect. Anyway, I think these worked as a tripych. Agree? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

I love these. But then, just about any shots of big cats work for me.
