Very cool. I love the star shape at the end of your heart. You have pretty good backwards handwriting.

As far as explaining why some of your photos were lit .... I'm not completely sure, but you are pretty close to the wall. My guess is that your flashlight lit the wall and surrounding area as well? I would have to see what the difference were between the two shots including camera settings and set up.

To flip the image I brought it into my photo editor, Jacs Photo Shop Pro. I then went to Image > Mirror. This is a pretty standard function of editing programs.

I've done the same sort of thing some time ago. I got a friend to hold the camera.
The room wasn't completely dark, so you can see a bit of me and the room. Also, the light I used (flashlight in my mobile) didn't give constant light, which can give you some cool effects, depending on the speed you're moving it...

here are two examples, not the very best, but I havent got them all online.

This was my self portrait

Default My attempt with some LEDs

Here's my attempt with red, green and blue LEDs from the base of a light-up cup. I sort of like having the background show through a little because I feel like it gives a more 3D look to the picture.

I took this over the weekend, used a longer exposure (30 sec)

How did you do this one without showing up in the shot?
