Default Orion with long exposures...

This is 5 exposures of 180 secs each. The extra exposure time brought out more of the nebula. No cropping, no flats and no darks. Taken with my 350D and 75-300mm lens @ 280mm...

Manual mode (bulb)
5 exposures of 180 secs each stacked
F/5.6
ISO 800

Once again, 'nother great shot.

What mount are you using? Do you use an autoguider, too. The stars appear to be nice pinpoints. As far as I can tell, anyway... considering the size of the image you've posted.

I love this.

Was this done on some sort of telescope tracking? How is there no trails at 180 seconds if on tri-pod?

Another question that will surely show my photoshop ignorance: How is the "stacking" done? What type of layer?

Great job. TFS

Scope is a Meade LX200 10 inch and it's built-in mount. No autoguiding. I use a permanent pier instead of a tripod...

I used Registax V5 (free software) to stack then used photoshop for processing to bring out more of the nebula.
Camera attached to my scope for guiding only. Scope lens wasn't used for imaging...
