Here is one I had done but changed it up a little by shooting it from the top as the droplets moved away from me. The background is a dirty bath tub.

I've become obsessed with taking these shots,
Thanks a lot. Now I'll have to go to Water Droplet Addicts Anonymous!

Great shots everyone!

I tried my hand at a few, but my lighting was pretty limited and my P&S is quite stupid. If I put it in sports mode, I can't macro focus (I guess that makes sense, but what if you wanna photography sporty ants or something? ). If I do macro, then it seems to want to shoot at f/8! Out of 150 stinkin' shots, here are two that are mildly passable:

Oh yes I was shooting just plain old water in a blue plastic bowl. I was next to a window for natural light, plus I shot with the on ghetto-bounced on camera flash (piece of paper taped on the camera). Camera was on a tripod for easier handling.

I have a question...

I am going to be trying this over the next few days, and i was wondering about my setup,

Would this be a sufficient setup to achieve some good water drop shots?

The two yellow 'cones' are 300w work lights, then camera using on board flash, to fill the void of light, blue circle being the water lol

What do you guys think?

ike,

I just want to say thanks for posting how to do this. I just found this site and have been having so much fun with this. Thanks a lot! Of course I'm going to end up needing a new hard drive because I can't seem to stop taking these.

That's pretty good. I am going to try to combine both yours and Nifty Fifty's techniques.
