Default Take a look at my blog...

Please take a look at my photoblog. Critique it if you like. Please leave comments! Let me know what you think. I haven't had my photoblog critiqued yet. I'm just curious about what DPS thinks. Thank you in advance!

Hi, I like the layout it's nice and uncluttered and easy to navigate. One thing I would say is that the 'futuristic beehive' theme (as I've named it!) doesn't really fit the content. It's a cool theme but it seems a bit incongruous next to the photos you've posted, if you know what I mean. I went for a pretty minimalistic look for my photoblog, to let the photos speak for themselves, but a lot depends on personal taste anyway and what you're going to post.

Oh and nice shot of the Cavs helmet, very cool!

Thank you for the critique! Futuristic beehive is a great name for it...lol I think I chose this one because of the colors. I will check for more themes to see if there are any others that catch my eye. You are right, about the photos speaking for themselves! Right now I'm deployed so posting photos are very very limited...

Cavs...
I did a football game for the Hampton Cavaliers little league team. I didn't get a chance to post any game footage because I deployed. I will be posting some footage as soon as I can.
Thanks again!

just popped over briefly - I think I agree about the theme, and also it seems to be elongating your photos to fit the width of the main column. i would definitely look into changing that! (wider column or fix the size of the photos to be smaller and in original proportions)

otherwise looks good, and I love the shot of the pier.

I agree but the other theme may be worse...lol I will look to see if there's anything better.

Pier...
I'm really proud of that shot! I have more...

The blog looks good, but some of the pics on the main page are huge - it's loading up a 4Mb file for some of them, and then reducing the size in the browser to fit the page. Can you set it so that the image on the front page is a smaller file size, say no more than 400-500K, and then it links to the full-size image once the reader clicks on it?

Yes, I can... but, then the front page may not look right. I could just re-upload the same photos but smaller but I'm currently deployed and I can't upload anything. I will see what I can do about the file size. Thanks for the critique!
