Hi guys, I need some help. I'm an old guy and this technology comes hard, so, some questions.
1. What is a "sticky"?
2. I'd really like to download some images to this site but I find it impossible. I did the Flickr thing but still can't get images here. Help???
3. What is a URL? How and when is it used?

if you are using Flickr simply go to your photostream click the image you want then when you get the first bit click the ALL SIZES Tab above the image and then the Medium one on the new page this will show you a picture with two sets of code under it use the last one (the URL) copy and paste that into the picture box from the tabs above the bit you type your question in... would add some screen shots to help if you want me to.

a URL is the direct link to the image (ie where it is in the web)

A "sticky" refers to a thread that is permanently at the top of the list of threads for any particular forum. For example, "sticky" threads in the critique forums have rules for posting (some of the other forums have rule stickies too).

Have you had a look at the FAQs on how to post images from Flickr? There's a visual step by step guide there which should help you out. Click this link to see the guide.

Welcome to the inter webby thingie. Don't be afraid to ask questions or even just experiment with it on your own, it can sometimes not work as expected even for reasonably tech savvy people but seems to be well made enough that you're not likely to hurt it.

Thanks for all the advice folks, but I still can't seem to download an image from Flickr to this site. I have no problems at other web sites so I don't know what the problem is. I don't have the time on patience to work through this, so I'm going to log out and forget the whole thing. Once again- Thanks. Best of luck everyone....Chris

Don't worry about the URL address. Create a Desktop folder on your computer "Called DPS Photos. Make sure you size them 840 on the longest side and save at 72DPS.
Go into whatever section you're planning on downloading the pics (Such as share your shots). Click on New Tread. Once that window pops up, scroll down to Additional options, Attach Files and click on manage attachments. Another widow will pop up called Manage Attachments. Click on Choose file, it'll bring up another window, click on (open) DPS folder on Desktop and then Upload file each selected photo (one by one) from your computer.
