Red face I have no self control

I am going to a friends 50th birthday tomorrow and decided to stop at the camera shop to pick up a nifty-fifty to experiment with at the party. For 100 bucks f1.8 should let me avoid using the flash and won't attract the attention my zooms do. When I got to the case with all the nice Canon boxes there was one last copy of the f1.4 sitting all by itself next to the pile of what I intended to buy. I rescued it.

That's a great feeling... rescuing them. You can continue the feeling further by seeing the image results! Good on you!

Good choice. The f1.8 is nice, but the f1.4 with USM is really nice. My wife originally gave me crap for buying the f1.4, but she uses it A LOT.

And I actully just came back from a quick freelance job, where I used the 50mm at f2.0, a 580exII and a reflector. Works great for a quick portrait.
