Hello Stacey, and welcome to DPS. Please just use what you have got right now to full effect. Take pictures in an inventive and compositional way, changing positions and concentrating on what you want your shots to portray. Most of all post them on here for us to see. You will not be put down. You will receive good support from a great group of like minded people, and you will learn and progress. Just stick with us. Look forward to seeing your posts soon. God bless. PAUL

Hello Stacey,
"Welcome" to a great site and fantastic community, I hope you enjoy your time here. I am sure there are many folks here would will tell you everything you might want to know but remember "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so what some might like others might not, so remember it's all about what you like in your images and how you want them to be perceived by others is all that matter.
Have to say Paul is right, get to know your camera inside and out, play around with all the settings and experiment with different types of setting and image concepts. I really look forward to seeing some of your images on here soon. Have fun and remember to just get stuck in.
David
