Default Tell me the logic here...?

So.... We buy a

$2,000-5,000 camera
$2-5,000 in various lenses
$500 in flashes and accessories
$2,000 computer
$600 Photoshop + plug-ins

all this.... to get a photo that looks like it was taken with a $20 camera.

Talking about my pictures again Max?

The capability of point and shoot cameras IS pretty amazing these days, and having expensive gear is no guarantee of getting pro quality photos - which I know all too well. But we all have to start somewhere and can aspire to get the most out of our gear...

It's all about the camera companies making cameras to take pictures so easy that a caveman or cavewoman can do it

Only if you buy all that expensive gear so you can say you have it, and not so you can use it at the edge of its abilities.

Smaller cheaper cameras still don't have the high ISO capabilities, the frame rates, the AF-performance, the reach, the speed, or the versatility of a good DSLR.

But, if you can take just as good photos with a $20 camera, I'd be happy to take your D3 off your hands ^^

I think you guys missed the point.

Lomo style, cross-processed, overblown, polaroid... all styles that come from cheap cameras.

Look at the PP some people are doing to make them look this way.

HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE EQUIPMENT!!!! You guys missed the point of my post.

You didn't exactly make it clear that you were talking about those styles in your original post. But now that you bring it up, yes, it would be a bit absurd if someone was using their 5DII, L lenses, thousand dollar computer and photoshop ONLY to produce lomos or holga style pictures. Don't really know of anyone that does that though...

reeeaaalllyyy?? Look around the links here, a lot of folks seem to have found a style they like and go with it.

Not a judgment, just an observation.

You don't have the same control with the POS. While it does a good job of correcting colors under normal conditions, if you want your picture to look a certain way or have a certain feel, you have no contorl with the POS. DSLR's are for those of us control freaks, not for people who just want a regular photodocumented pic.
