Angry my dog my yard!!

Just got home to a formal written warning from the police about my dog DJ pooping in our yard and apparently we let him run off his leash...we dont but there are 2 other dogs in the neighborhood that do!!! They arent ours...im at war with my neighbors...this is rediculous!!!!!!! I clean up after him every other day, im not one to chase him at the door at 10:30 at night when it is negative 20 out. this has been a constant since we got our dog in october...our neighbor says he poops in her back yard yet his leash doesn't reach that far..... I am so frusterated and just dont know what to do with this.

That sounds like a frustrating situation, one of the things that really gets to me is people being unreasonable and difficult for the sake of it.
Maybe this is an opportunity for some photography practice though, you could collect some 'evidence' of the other dogs, and maybe take one to illustrate the restrictions of your dogs leash

Not knowing the full circumstances I can only speculate, but it seems a bit premature on the part of the police to issue a warning without doing a full investigation. Did they just talk to the neighbors and not you? I believe a full investigation includes talking to all parties involved.

i didnt even think of that..the funny thing is the neighbor who called the police watched with me as another dog did its bussiness in my yard growled at us as we were standing in the street and went back down to the other end of the block...i just happened to be on my way to work. i asked if it was her's in the first place because it was on my step when i walked out my front door and she was the only person in sight.. i will have to start documenting my dog with pictures..it just makes me mad we just bought our house in october and our neighbor is just a crabby old lady!

Blue...i came home to the warning crammed into the garage door. thank goodness i didn't pull in the garage because it would have been lost. not like they left it on the front door...they have not talked to me or my husband.

Perhaps removing the poop from your yard and depositing it in your neighbor's mailbox would help?
Or invite the police to further investigate the problem further and show them the evidence.

Yes! A great photo challenge. Get into your dark ops gear and stake out the area with your camera. When you get evidence, e-mail it to the local lawmen and make copies to show your neighbor. Demand an apology and/or tell them to get of your back! Which ever you prefer. Just because there's nothing to do in Fargo, they don't need to take it out on you.

You forgot the step of lighting it on fire, THEN putting it on their doorstep and ringing the doorbell!
