cameras are like umbrellas

You know what I mean like bring an umbrella just in case it rains and it doesn't, leave it at home and it rains! Same with my camera! Whenever I bring it along just in case I spot something worthy of snappping I never see anything worth taking and yet last night I took the children out and there was a beautiful orange sunset with the snow glistening and people walking their dogs in silouette

I'm going there this afternoon to try to recreate the shot but you bet there won't be a soul out let alone a beautiful sunset.

Cool pics! I went for a walk in the snow and took some great shots (see share your shots) but it seems every time I leave the camera at home I miss "the shot". I think I read somewhere to always have the camera with you. I want a G11 or something similar to have in my handbag just in case. Its pain having to carry a large camera bag all the time.

Hah, true. It's just why I keep my point and shoot in working order and carry it when I can't bring my DSLR.
