Default Shots everyone should have?

Hi All,

I've not long had my Canon450D and I'm becoming a bit photo obsessed! I found this site and would love to get more involved in it. So here's my idea...

What I would like to do (as part of my new years resolution) is to take more structured photos. So I thought I'd start a discussion that covers all the standard shots that everyone has in their portfolio, eg a robin in snow, a water droplet, your dog etc.

If you think this is a good idea reply and post an idea and also a shot.

My starter for 10 is a water droplet.

Please post back and have fun

Dave

Hi,

I am new to photography so just thought I'd start off by showing a recent project. Every magazine, every forum, every gallery with lots of photos seem to have standard photos in. Any suggestions will do - I just wanted to get a few ideas from other people.

Generic ideas are the focal point of this - wide angle shot of anything would be appropriate for an idea along with any picture taken with a wide angle lens

Hope this clears things up and hopefully no-one will feel excluded

i too don't have most of the "required" shots as you mention. I did have to try some water drop shots though after watching the "how to" video on strobist.
