Default Question about 35MM camera lens

I recently recieved a pentax 35 mm camera with a few lenses larger then I have ever had and am wondering if they are interchangable to use on a digital camera?
I know they make adapters for them, but when I priced the pentax digital, they were more then I can spend at the moment so is there a less expensive digitial DSLR that I could purchase that I could practice with the lens with until I can save enough money?
The SLR camera that I have right now does not have a removable lens that I could interchange it with, plus the fact that I have always been horrible about getting film developed and then there is the fact that I would have to either purchase a scanner to get the pics on the computer or have a cd made each time I had the film developed.
I like the idea of just putting in the card into the computer and instantly downloading the pics instead.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Laura

Then its likely not an SLR but a bridge-format superzoom

The pentax lenses, if they're bayonet mount, will mount without a problem with Pentax bodies, though I believe they can be adapted to the Canon mount.

What lenses are they? It may not be worth keeping/working with them. Even jsut posting pictures of them with a detail shot of the ID plate.

Pentax DSLRs are priced pretty competitively compared to the other brands.

Pentax | Pentax K-x Digital SLR with 18-55mm Zoom Lens | 16301

or

Amazon.com: Pentax 10.2 MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens - Black (K2000): Electronics

You're going to have a hard time finding a DSLR for less than that.

Osmosis is right though - depending on which lenses you got it may or may not be worth getting a Pentax DSLR. Buying a camera like that is more buying into a system - bodies, lenses, and flashes, that you'll likely be using for quite a while and is a significant investment. If you are serious about SLR photography I would sit down and do some research on what a lens does for you, what features in a body you are looking for, whether you want to use flashes in your photography, and so on. It'll take some time but it'll definitely be worth it in the long run.
