Default Backup online photo accounts for free?!?

I was just told of a service called "Backupify" which will backup all of your online information in the event something happens (hacked, deleted, etc).

Flickr, photobucket, wordpress, blogger, and several others are mentioned.

They say "Free until Jan 31st" but I have heard that might mean if you sign up before Jan 31st you get a free account.

Anyway, check it out, no harm done since it is free (at least for now, maybe forever?). In the event that you do get to keep the free account make sure you do not lose this opportunity.

I just signed up it backed up my flickr photos for me, seems easy to use. Anyway, enjoy.

Update: According to Backupify's Blog the account will be free forever.

The free version now will always be free with unlimited storage, but there will be a more advanced version that will cost. Also, after Jan 31st they will have a regular free account that will have limited storage and other limitations.

Thanks for the link. It sounds to good to be true but a quick reading of the site didn't reveal any gotchas. I note they use Amazon Web Services, which is somewhat concerning -- I don't trust Amazon's intentions when it comes to my private data, but *shrug*. My gut tells me you get what you pay for, so I'm going with that.

Yeah, I don't think I would start putting any sensitive data like social security number or credit cards on such services without encrypting them, but Backupify only collects data from your public social profiles, and if you are putting such data on them then you deserve whatever is coming at you.

Edit: Check out This blog post for even more details and info on the free account and why it is free. I'm having a little bit of trouble backing up my wordpress, but that could be because I have a lot of large images on there? Everything else is working fine, and I'll contact their tech support if I can't get wordpress to work soon.

Update 2: The wordpress took a long time to run but it did finally backup. It backed up all files and the database.
