Default scanner question/help

Hi All,

I have been a lurker here for a while and think this is a great site full of valuable information.

Ok, now for my question..... My daughter got me a Pandigital film scanner for Christmas as I have a lot of negatives from a B&W course I would like to scan. Does anyone here have any experience with one of these that could offer any tips or tricks?

Thanks! Mary

I used to sell them. No personal experience, but from what I hear from customers, they were pretty happy. Why not just try it yourself!

Bumping this back to the top to see if any others have any experience with this type of scanner.

Osmosis, I have been playing around with it trying to get it to work.

The first problem was I use a mac and the scanner requires a PC for the drivers to work.

The next issue was the need for a USB2.0 port as they put out more power (about 500mA) So I got a PCI type USB2.0 adapter and plugged it into that. The card has a port on it to add a 5v ac/dc adapter to give it a little more juice, so I added that.

When I slide the try in containing the film, the image won;t stabilize so it's really hard to get a decent scan.

When I do, the high key tones are really blown out. The low key isn;t too bad though.

If anyone is still reading and has any ideas I would love to hear them!

Thanks! :-)

Don't use it myself.............I use the Canonscan FS 4000USB and have used the Nikon coolscans. But, seems like from the review I read, you can only scan to 4 x 6 prints.
Here's the review. Pandigital Photolink One-Touch Scanner

Jim, thanks for the link!
Unfortunately, that's not the one I have. I have the film and slide scanner. It can be seen here:
Pandigital
I have done quite a few searches and haven't been able to find too much info on it all.
