Question Newbie with a question for a pro ?

Recently I went to WDW ( Walt Disney World) and had some great shots of my 1st 2 days... While there I had taken video but also during the trip I adjusted a setting... When I got home I realized that:

A)-- I inadvertantly deleted the 1st 2 days of photos/video that I had taken with my Cannon SX10is............. or......

B)---I used up the mem card 4 gb's and didn't realize it so the remaining 3 days the photos were taken over it...

My question is this??? Is there a way I can take that memory card to a place where they can check it to see if I either deleted or filled up the mem card and the 3 days remaining were taken over the previous 2 days??????

I know this sounds confusing but I have read where there may be a way that the missing 2 days are somewhere hidden on that 4 gb card... Any help or thoughts on this would be appreciated

No. You had used up all the available space so the newer files had overwritten the deleted ones.

I don't think B is an option. I don't know of any camera that will automatically overwrite older images when the memory card gets full. You would have had to of deleted the images. The deleted images will be lost if they were overwritten by new files (almost certainly some will have been overwritten). A disk recovery program might be of some help (I have Sandisk's program which came with my cards)

Another possibility is you have the first 2 days images in a different "folder", but that should easily be discoverable with almost any browsing program (explorer/finder/OEM program).

C: you're using an old computer that doesn't recognise the format of your card for some reason? Is it SDHC? You may need a special card reader (I did)

If it's a Canon the images will be (By Default) in a different folder for the different days. Make sure you check.

A camera won't delete images without its owner giving it a little push...

Try opening the memory card on your computer using the latest OS of Mac or Windows using the camera or card reader. It will display any folder or file in the hiearchy. Cheers.
