Default I need some information

Hello everyone,
I need some information about a fact that bothers me and i cannot end up with a solution.
I have a Canon EOS 50D and i'm using the Speedlite 430EXII external flash, but I don't know why when using the high speed continous shooting, if the flash is directed to the front of the camera ( Direct flash) it can syncronize with the 6.3 fps of the camera, but if i have to bounce over the seeling, the flash will fire on the first shot only, and continue the next shot without firing, which will end up with a slower shutter speed, and then the photo will blurr dramatically.
If somebody has an answer or some setting i have to do please inform me.Thank you.

Is the flash ready light on in the next shot? It may take a longer time to charge up with bounced flash.

I don't understand why the flash will charge faster if it is directed to the face. Do you?

Shorter distance I guess. Maybe you were shooting directly first (fresh battery) and bounced later. Not many hot shoe flashes can do 6.3 fps.

When a flash is set at eTTL, it's recycle time will depend on the aperture, distance etc. Pros often use external battery pack to get faster recycle time.

BTW, are you using a good brand of Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries?

Yes, a lot more distance and the ceiling is also soaking up some light to the flash needs to put out more power so takes longer to recharge.

Thank you guys, i tried to lower the flash exposure compensation because as you said the bounced flash may order more power to bounce light on the ceiling and next to the object, so the result was very good, it responded perfectly for the first 10 frames.
