Default Art Institute or other online school...

What are everyones opinion of the different online degree programs in photography? Other than Art institute, what other schools offer a BA in Photography? What are the thoughts on actually needing a degree vs. real world experience?

I've decided that I want to go back to school after 20 years but just don't have any interest in any of the other degree programs. I've always enjoyed photography, think I'm okay it it (others say good at it), and think I would enjoy earning a degree in the field.

I just found this site earlier today and will definitely start posting soon.

Regards,
Erik

Waste of time if you ask me.

I've been doing some shoots lately... not one person asked me where I went to school or if I had even taken a class on photography (I haven't).

All that mattered to my client was the quality of my work.

I got a BS in photography, and then I interviewed for a teaching position at a 2 yr community college. Second semester students at the community college were doing more advanced stuff than I did in the entirety of my 4 yr coursewrok.

Depends on the school, but there's nothing in a classroom that you can't get from a book, the internet, or a more experience photographer willing to answer questions.

If it were me, and this is a big if, because i already wasted $60,000 going to Full Sail University so who am I to speak, I would take all those Tens of thousands of dollars and put them towards photography books and gear. AND get some "real world" education (Not Full Sail Real world education ) :P anyway all jokes aside. That is what I would do.
