Default When Composing how do you think creatively

What goes through your mind when setting up for a picture? As a newbie, I'm very curious how more seasoned photographers view their subjects from a creative perspective.

Ummm....

A lot of things really.

What do I want the final out come to be... and then how do I get there? I usually have 10 or so ideas running through my head for each set up and from there it's just a matter of making the camera record what I want it to record.

Really, I don't know...

I "see" a picture then go about capturing it...I know how it should "feel" and where the focus should be and what the "subject" is..even if I haven't actually encountered the "scene" yet. (This doesn't apply to walkabouts , or wildlife)

Basically I have some clear ideas in my head about what I am wanting. So I shoot particularly for that look. As far as composing, there are no rules in my book. I compose for what I feel looks appealing.

Composition is subjective. Yes, there are rules that may "guide" you to get a better looking photo, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some of my best shots have come from pure impulse.
