Default rewarding experience

Did a charity photo shoot at a Christmas party at a women shelter today... Not only that i am more then happy with most of the pis i took, but the mothers were so excited and so happy that it made my day. One of the mums wanted to know how much ill sell the pics for and was so happy and grateful when i told her she will get a CD with a quick retouch and the photos in two sizes (for printing and e-mailing) for free on Monday...

What bought tears in my eyes was when one of the mums after seeing the pics on my small LCD hugged me and told me that these are the only pics she has of her kids... Braked my heart and i spent another 30 minutes taking extra pics of her kids.

It has been so sad to think of all their pain (more so as i know it first hand), but also so great to see them so strong, so willing to fiht for a better life for them and their children.

It always makes me happy when my clients are satisfied with the pics i take of them, but today it has been so so rewarding.

For me it has been a small thing to give 5 hours of my time to take the pics plus however it will take me to do the post work (including sorting). I do it because i love photography and that in itself its joy for me, but it meant so much for them...

Anyway...just wanted to share my experience because it really touched me.

Alexandra
